Rose essential oil is the most classic floral of them all – deep, rich and unmistakable. It is a precious oil, and a little carries a long way, which makes it feel like a small luxury every time.
What rose smells like
A full, sweet, honeyed floral with a green and faintly spicy edge. It is deep and rounded rather than light – the true smell of fresh roses, with all their richness intact.
Simple ways to use it
- Diffuse a little for a soft, romantic floral – 2 to 4 drops is plenty.
- Add it to a carrier oil (about 2%) for a beautiful scented body oil.
- Use it as the heart note in a homemade blend.
Patch test before skin use, dilute properly, and keep it away from the eyes.
What rose pairs with
- With bergamot for a bright, fresh-floral lift.
- With patchouli for a deep, classic, grown-up blend.
- With cedarwood to ground its richness with warm wood.
Rose is a centrepiece scent – build a blend around it. See the full range in the shop, or read about scent families.
